TWO MORE HOT FILL LINES FOR URC
The co-operation between SIPA and the Philippine’s tycoon in the tea market continues
SIPA has consolidated its collaboration with Universal Robina Corporation, part of the J.G. Summit Holding Group, with the supply of other two hot fill lines to be installed in Vietnam.URC, leader in the food sector, has entered into the beverage market launching the C2 brand, which in a short period of time reached an important market share for hot filled products in the Philippines ,Vietnam and Indonesia.
The two companies collaborated from the start, in 2004, in the choice of the most suitable technology, the most appropriate process and most competitive packaging in order to obtain high performance and highly flexible lines. In particular, the packaging has been studied to give an economic advantage thanks to a container weight reduction program: from the traditional 32 grams of the 500 ml hot fill container to the current 26 grams.
Since 2004, twelve ECS FX 20/80 1-step systems have been supplied, optimised for hot fill and light weight, equipped with a storage silo, bottle aligning device and air conveyors, hot filling monoblock, caps sterilisation area, cooling tunnel, labelling device and cartoning machine.
In order to improve plant performance, safeguarding flexibility in the production of different containers, each production line has been dedicated to just one format, with the possibility to quickly change the type of product, label and cap.
“There are different reasons – comments David J. Lim, J.G. Summit Corporation Project Manager - to why we chose SIPA and their 1-step technology instead of the traditional 2-step technology. First of all, the fact that blowing takes place immediately after injection, so reducing energy consumption. Secondly, the possibility to pass to filling after blowing, so minimising the risk of contamination was significant. Moreover, the support given to use in all phases was exemplary: from the development of the bottle up to marketing and maintenance. Their young, dynamic team was fundamental in allowing us to reach our objectives”
