SIPA: GREEN CONSCIENCE

International green-oriented strategy, fully respecting the environment.

Paying attention to environmental problems is one of the main objectives of our mission at SIPA.
We underline our strong environmental conscience, striving to limit the repercussions of our activities on the ecosystem, investing in solutions and products with high levels of sustainability.
The attention to the eco-sustainability of our products was first demonstrated in our development of increasingly lightweight PET bottles, which considerably reduce the use of petrol based materials. The containers produced by our machines are the result of the highest level of skills acquired in delivering avant-garde technological solutions to the market. Bottles with optimum ergonomics and an elegant, sophisticated design, all Made in Italy.
Reducing the weight of a package brings clear savings in terms of raw material usage: in-depth studies into thickness, weight distribution, optimisation of the stretching ratio, the design and the bottle neck are required. The production of ultra-light containers must however not compromise the required gripping rigidity, either empty or during filling.
SIPA is also committed to designing and developing innovative production systems that assure the reduction in energy consumption and the consistent reduction of CO2 emissions. During blowing, using the ARS process (Air Recovery System) more than 50% of the air can be recovered and reused in the factory in auxiliary systems. With the exclusive ARS Plus system, on the other hand, it is possible to recover high pressure blowing air, reducing the compressor size up to 35%, with relative energy savings.
Again aiming to reduce high pressure consumption, SIPA pays great attention to reducing the bars used during the blowing phase. Containers with appropriate shapes, with no particular decorations, were blown at very low pressures, up to 18 bar with great savings in compressed air.
And in the heating ovens, SIPA aims to reduce electricity consumption by using new lamps which improve the heating efficiency of the preforms.
SIPA has used its own first hand experience to reduce environmental impact by considering the use of alternative materials to PET deriving from renewable sources, such as PLA containers. According to the most recent studies, PLA bottles are 100% compostable. PLA is suited for packaging products which do not require a long shelf life, such as: fresh milk or dairy products in the cold chain, vegetable oil, mineral water with no added gas.
Furthermore, with a view to PET recycling, we have optimised the container production process using various percentages of recycled material: up to 50% for the production of containers for food use and even 100% in the case of home care and chemical sector containers using both PRC PET and the recrystalised flakes method.
The in-depth knowledge of all the dynamics of packaging allows us to remain competitive over the market in terms of both high quality and price. With a modern eco-sensitive vocation and sectorial expertise that makes it one of the most highly specialised companies in the field, SIPA is a total solution provider that delivers a wide range of skills, technologies and services.
